See Picks & Statistics For The GameWe have a battle of one thriving team vs. one struggling team. The Connecticut Sun will take on the Minnesota Lynx at the Target Center. It will be the first time these two teams play each other this year. Let’s talk about their season starts and get into the Sun vs. Lynx picks.
Minnesota is 3-0 to start the season and is in first in the West. They’ve got the job done nicely so far with two wins by 14 or more points. Napheesa Collier is having a great start averaging 28.3 ppg. and 6.0 rpg. She is going to be a problem this year and is a possible MVP candidate.
Courtnery Williams has settled in nicely averaging 17 ppg. and 8.7 apg., while Alana Smith is contributing 15.5 ppg. and 4.5 rpg. Players like Natasha Hiedeman and Bridget Carleton have been stepping up. The team needs that with the absence of Kayla McBride.
So far, the Lynx rank 3rd in the league for points per game with 91. They also have the best shooting percentage in the league, shooting 49.5%. Minnesota has the best offensive ranking in the league. On defense, they rank 7th in defensive rating and 11th in steals. Their defense last game was very shaky vs. the Wings.
Take a look at this matchup, along with plenty of additional WNBA odds at the best online sportsbooks.
Connecticut trying to get their 1st win of the season

Sun center Tina Charles reacts to the referee after not a getting a call.
The Sun haven’t got their first win yet and are 0-2. They’re 6th in the East and this will be a tough task for them against the Lynx. Connecticut is just coming off a 25-point beatdown from the Aces. This most definitely is not a bounce back spot for them.
Tina Charles is off to a great start and leading this rebuild team. They lost their core players this offseason in Alyssa Thomas, DeWanna Bonner, and Brionna Jones. Charles is averaging 21.5 ppg. along with 7.5 rpg., and has taken control of the offense.
They almost won their first game of the season against the Mystics, but lost by five. The Aces and Lynx are much better teams than the Mystics, so you can’t really compare. The Sun need to get more offense as they rank 10th in the league for ppg. and pace.
Connecticut needs to also do better defensively. They rank 12th in the league for defensive rating. Their shooting is terrible, and they also are not good at rebounding. Lots of things to work on, but it’s early. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

Sun vs. Lynx Picks and Predictions: Minnesota Lynx Spread -16 (-114) Get 50% up to $1000 Deposit on BetOnline for this pick
That’s a big spread and I don’t care – give me the spread. Minnesota should handle business in this game and control the whole thing. Connecticut doesn’t have enough offensive weapons to compete with an offense of the Lynx caliber.
I think we see the Lynx move the ball around plenty. They’re going to create their opportunities without a problem. Minnesota just needs to play that tight defense that they’ve been known for to seal the deal.
For player props, I like Collier to get 25+ points for -122. She’s hit the line in two out of the three games and the game she missed was only by one point. Napheesa has been absolutely ballin’ and I think we see more of the same.
Another play I like is Tina Charles to record over 17.5 points for -114. She has had 20+ points in both of her games this year. This offense runs through her and she’s going to have to be heavily involved for the Sun to stand a chance.
