UEFA Champions League: Predictions, Odds & Best Bets

Today brings the second leg of our final UEFA Champions League Quarterfinal matchups. Yesterday, two of our Semifinal spots were filled, as Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona successfully took down their competition. Now it’s time for two more squads to join them after these matches today, so let’s get in to our best bets on the pitch!

UEFA Champions League: Wednesday’s Quarterfinals

Keep in mind, today is the second leg of these matchups. Lines are as sharp as ever, and with some bigger aggregate leads, motivation may be a little one-sided. As always, proceed with caution.

Inter Milan vs Bayern Munich Best Bets

Inter Milan Lead 2-1 on aggregate

Best Bet: Under 3 (-116) BetOnline

We are backing the Italian back line at home, to at least keep this one low scoring. This team has been phenomenal, allowing just three goals in 11 UCL matches this competition, and only one at home. Inter has been netting two goals per game in their last few, but 9 of their 11 matches have ended with one team being shutout. My point is, this might be the best back line in all of European football at the moment, and being back at home with an aggregate lead is right where they want to be.

Munich will bring their full attack, as they need to win this match just to force extra time. However, Inter’s defense and goalkeeper held strong after facing 20 shots in the first match. At home, I do not see them getting peppered as much.

Over the course of the game, Inter is not really going to try and score. There’s no need to! All they want to do is play kick around for 90 minutes and make sure the Germans don’t go anywhere near the net. If they have success on the defensive end, which I expect them to do, Inter Milan holds on for a win and keeps this game well under the number.

Prediction: 1-1 Draw (+600)

Real Madrid vs Arsenal Best Bets

Arsenal Lead 3-0 on aggregate

Best Bets: Real Madrid ML (-118) BetOnline

Let’s do some line reading for this game. Real Madrid is back at home, but are down 3-0 on aggregate. Being up three goals, Arsenal is priced at -650 to advance to the UCL Semifinals, however the hosts are (-118) favorites to win this game. That tells me that Real Madrid wins this game, but not by more than three, thus the Gunners move on.

I will admit, I was surprised with Arsenal’s showing last week, and I’ve got to tip my cap to them. They played very sound soccer at home, putting 11 of their 12 shots on target, and finding the back of the net on three of them. That is quite the dominant win, and now on the road they can sit back and let the attack come to them.

Real Madrid has absolutely nothing to lose, and will be without Eduardo Camavinga who accumulated two yellow cards last match. The Spaniards have other personnel to step up and help them win this game, and I am betting on them simply because of the styles of play I expect.

Arsenal has a very good defense, and it will be tested today. Look for the Gunners to defend, defend, defend today against the aggressive Madrid attack. While I do think Madrid finds the back of the net and wins this game, I do not think they do so by enough goals to force overtime, as the Gunners should head back to England to prep for the UCL Semis.
