It’s the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. Cristiano Ronaldo leads his country with seven goals throughout the UEFA Nations League, and young Spaniard Lamine Yamal has three of his own this tournament. These teams last met in the Nations League competition in 2022.
Spain and Portugal tied 1-1 in their first group stage meeting, but later Spain were victorious, winning 1-0. The Spaniards went on to win the entire tournament, and defend their title today. Will things be different this time around?
UEFA Nations League Final Best Bets

Back Spain to repeat as UEFA Nations League Champions in regulation
Best Bets: Spain ML (+102) BetOnline
Spain is +102 on the ML but they are -200 to lift the trophy. This is clearly their match to lose, and I’ll be on them getting it done in 90 minutes. For starters, BetOnline is the only book currently offering plus money on this wager. Everywhere else on the market has (-110) or worse.
While we are taking a risk on Spain to finish this off in regulation, I think they are capable. This team is used to winning. They just won every match of the 2024 EURO, only needing extra time in the quarterfinals. Then they drew their opening game of this tournament, but have won the five remaining games of group stage. Their last loss was in March of 2024 against Colombia in a friendly, and they haven’t lost a meaningful match in over two years.
This match tonight is certainly Ronaldo vs Yamal as one passes the torch to the other, and I’ve got to lean with the young core of Spain to continue their dominance on the international stage.
Prediction: Spain wins 2-0 (+875)
