We’re back for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Semifinals as we head to Italy for the first match! Inter Milan hosts Barcelona for all the marbles today, and things are all square. Both netted three goals a piece in their opener leaving it all tied up heading into the final match. Of course, we had to dive in and find our best bets for this matchup.
Like I said, we had quite the thriller in the first leg. Inter Milan scored in the first minute, and led 2-0 on the road just 21 minutes into the match. Lamine Yamal got Barcelona on the scoreboard less than three minutes later, and Ferran Torres was able to tie things up before the end of the first half. Things were all tied up heading into the final 45.
About 20 minutes into the second half, Denzel Dumfries put Inter on top once again, as he headed one home. That lead only lasted two minutes before Yann Sommer conceded an own goal, leveling things up. This 3-3 score held for the end of the match, and Barcelona survived a scare at home. Will they be able to bring the same fire on the road today?

Things are all tied up on aggregate, and as I talked about last match, we have two different styles of play. Barcelona runs and guns and attacks as often as they can. They held 71% of possession last match, including outshooting their visitors 19-7 overall and 9-3 on target. Inter just found the back of the net on everything on frame. Barcelona also won the corner kick battle 7-2 as well, which is usually a good sign for your team.
However, now they are on the road. While I’m not going to say they are necessarily worse away from home, Inter Milan is outstanding in Italy. They’ve allowed just three goals at home throughout six games in this competition, and prior to last match had given up just two others. Their backline is very good, and I think at home, the game plan changes, as I expect them to go win this very, very late in the contest.

Inter Milan vs Barcelona Prediction: 1-1 Draw (+800)
Best Bet: Under 3.25 (-125) BetOnline
Going back to the ole Asian handicap today as I think we see a low scoring affair. A reminder, we placed a unit at Under 3.25 at (-125), meaning we have 0.5u at Under 3.5 (-125), and 0.5u at Under 3 (-125). Good chance for us to push and win, or even take both bets.
Sure, we saw six total goals last time out, but now one of the best back line’s in Europe have the home field advantage. I’m sure they are incredibly conservative today, as their goal has always been to come back to Italy at least tied on aggregate. They would’ve definitely liked to have an aggregate lead had they not conceded an own goal for an equalizer. Nevertheless, Inter Milan will likely play possession for most of 90 minutes before trying to win this thing 1-0 late.
Their whole game plan will be defending Barcelona’s attack.
The Spaniards gave them all they could handle in the first leg, and Inter would’ve escaped with a lead had it not been for a goalie kerfuffle. However, in a more comfortable environment, I don’t see the hosts getting scared of their visitors. Barcelona is good, absolutely, but Inter knows they can hang with anyone. Soccer is a game where all it takes is a couple key plays to win the match, as we saw last time out. Inter has the strengths to slow down Barcelona, and I think they do so in a low scoring affair tonight.
Remember, this bet is just for 90 minutes. If things are tied, there will be extra time and potentially PKs, however our bet is settled after regulation time (including stoppage). Let’s root for a 1-1 draw, cash our best, and then hopefully get some exciting extra time in Italy.
