English Premier League: Predictions, Odds & Best Bets (4/1)

While the sports calendar is slowing down with the end of College Hoops, we still have a long spring and summer full of action on pitch! We’ve got three games in the EPL today, so let’s dive in and find our best bets across the pond for Tuesday. It’s late in the season and time to start thinking about certain team’s motivation for specific matches.

For example, Liverpool has essentially wrapped up the top of the table. They are up 12 points on 2nd place Arsenal with just nine matches to be played. It would take nothing short of a miracle for the Gunners to overcome them for the top spot. However, Arsenal is also in the middle of the UEFA Champions League Quarterfinals, and will be much more focused on that task. Will that impact how they view this match today?

Arsenal vs Fulham Best Bets

Back the Gunners at home with me tonight. Sure, they have this match and another EPL match on Saturday before hosting defending UCL Champions Real Madrid on Tuesday, but I think they are much better than Fulham and will use this as a tune up game. At home, the Gunners are phenomenal, especially in their back line.

Arsenal has 10 shutouts at home this season, winning nine of those matches as well. They haven’t played in almost two weeks, which has given time for some injured players to rest and make their return to the pitch. While I’ll admit Fulham has been impressive this season, recently they were just shutout 3-0 by Crystal Palace in the FA Cup, and they haven’t played well against teams near the top of the table, losing to Brighton 2-1 on the road.

In the Emirates tonight, I see the Gunners playing conservative, but aggressive enough to secure three points without allowing a goal.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 (+550)

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United Best Bets

Best Bets: Forest/United Under 2.5 (-107) BetOnline

We are getting the best line on the market on BetOnline, and I don’t see very many goals in this match today. Nottingham Forest is at home and has been a force to be reckoned with this season. Manchester United has recently turned things on and are playing much better than they have in the past. However, Forest has contained them once.

Manchester United has netted 7 total goals in their last two matches, but had some trouble scoring prior to that. Plus, Nottingham Forest already upset United in Old Trafford, beating them 3-2 back in December. I do not think we see as exciting of a match as we did the last time, as Forest is gunning for a top spot in the EPL.

They currently sit in 3rd, four points behind Arsenal, and five points ahead of Chelsea. Holding that spot is of the utmost importance to them as a team, and that means one point at home today is essential. Obviously three points would be ideal, but I see Forest being more than happy to beat and draw with Manchester United this season. Give me a conservative Forest team coming out and keeping this one very low scoring.

Prediction: 0-0 Draw (+950)
