It took over an hour for Brazil to break through against Serbia in their 2022 World Cup opener, but two Richarlison goals saw the tournament favorites pick up three points to begin their pursuit of a sixth World Cup title.
Today, they will look to make it two wins in two games as they take on Switzerland, who will also be looking to go back-to-back after opening the tournament with a win over Cameroon.
Against Serbia, Richarlison opened the scoring in the 62nd minute and then wrapped up the win with a beautiful bicycle kick in the 73rd minute.
Switzerland, meanwhile, picked up their three points through a 48th-minute goal by Breel Embolo, who was born in Cameroon but moved to France and then Switzerland in his childhood.
Depending on the result of the Cameroon vs Serbia match, the winner of this match could become the second team to wrap up a spot in the round of 16, following France’s qualification-securing win over Denmark on Saturday.
Will we see either team take maximum points in Doha? Keep reading for our Brazil vs Switzerland prediction, as well as our recommended bets for the matchup.

Should You Follow These Two Trends? (Spoiler Alert: Yes, You Should)
Against Serbia, Brazil had 24 shots, ten of which were on target. It was the eighth straight match in which they recorded 18 or more shots.
Recent Shot Totals for Brazil (Last Eight Matches)
- Serbia: 24 (10 on target)
- Tunisia: 18 (10 on target)
- Ghana: 21 (9 on target)
- Japan: 21 (5 on target)
- South Korea: 25 (9 on target)
- Bolivia: 20 (9 on target)
- Chile: 18 (9 on target)
- Paraguay: 22 (8 on target)
When Brazil and Switzerland met in the group stage at the 2018 World Cup, they played out a 1-1 draw in which Brazil had 20 shots.
Based on their recent form, there’s a lot of value in backing the favorites to score multiple goals once again. They have done so in seven of their last eight matches, the exception being a 1-0 win over Japan in June, a match that they dominated but needed a 77th-minute penalty by Neymar to come away with the victory.
Brazil vs Switzerland Prediction and Picks
Brazil vs Switzerland Prediction: Brazil to win
Brazil vs Switzerland Picks: Brazil to win and 2 or more goals in the match (-133 at Bovada Sportsbook) & Brazil to have 17 or more shots (-130 at BetOnline)
Like Serbia, Switzerland likely won’t be easy to break down, but I expect both of the above trends to play out successfully in Doha.
