See Picks & Statistics For The GameWe have a battle in the windy city, and I got you covered. The Utah Hockey Club will head into town to take on the Chicago Blackhawks. These 2 teams faced off a little over a week ago and Utah won 2-1.
Utah is 27-25-9 this season and 6th in the Central Division. They are coming off a win last night vs the Red Wings and it puts the 2 points out of the 2nd Wild Card spot. They’re currently 7-3-0 in their last 10 games and are 12-13-6 on the road. Utah’s also 9-8-2 in divisional games this season.
This team has surprised the league being in playoff contention. Their offense isn’t even the best on paper, ranking 23rd in goals scored and 18th in shots on goal per game, but they have role players on this team. Led by Clayton Keller, guys like Dylan Guenther, Logan Cooley and Barrett Hayton really give this team a future.
On defense, they are half decent. They rank 14th in goals allowed and 12th in shots on goal allowed per game. Goalie Connor Ingram is expected to be in net. He has a 9-8-4 record with a 3.27 GAA and a .882 save percentage. He did not play in the game last week, so he will be new to Chicago.
Chicago will try to defend home ice tonight at the United Center

Blackhawks center Ryan Donato collides with Utah’s Matias Maccelli in open ice.
Chicago has a 19-35-8 record this season and is in last place in the Central Division. The Blackhawks come into this game off a loss to the Senators on Wednesday night. They are 3-4-3 in their last 10 games and are 5-11-3 in divisional matchups.
This team’s offense is the worst in the league but almost expected as they’re in the middle of a rebuild. They rank 25th in goals scored and last in shots on goal per game. Although they don’t shoot much, they’re pretty accurate with a shooting percentage of 11%, 8th best in the league.
Defensively, they’re again not very good. They rank 30th in both goals allowed and shot on goal per game. Chicago commits over 4 penalties a game, so having the 8th best penalty kill in the league isn’t too bad.
Newly acquired goalie Spencer Knight will be in net. He just came over in a trade that sent Seth Jones to the Panthers and Knight to the Hawks. Knight is 13-8-1 this season with a 2.21 GAA and a .912 save percentage. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

The last game went under, and I think we see more of the same. I like that we’re getting a 6.5 total as well so the game could end 4-2 and we still cash. Both offenses can be snoozefest, although Utah has their moments.
I tend to see when a team scores a good number of goals one game, that they usually regress the next game. I think that is the case here and Utah is also playing the 2nd game of a back-to-back. Chicago’s offense is already anemic mixed with Utah’s decent defense, and they get held to 1 or 2 goals.
For player props, I like for Dylan Guenther to record 3 or more shots on goal. He is just coming off a 4-shot game with a goal scored. This Hawks defense has no answer for a kid like this. I also like Clayton Keller for an assist being on the first line and also on the 1st power play that includes Guenther.
