See Picks & Statistics For The GameWe have a battle between the Detroit Red Wings and Seattle Kraken at the Climate Pledge Arena. These 2 teams faced off last month and the Red Wings won by a score of 6-2. Let’s get into the Red Wings vs Kraken picks.
The Red Wings are 27-21-5 and are 4th in the Atlantic Division. They’re hot as the freaking sun right now, on a 6-game winning streak. Detroit is 7-2-1 in their last 10 games but are 12-10-3 on the road this season.
Their offense isn’t the greatest, but they find ways to win. The Red Wings rank 19th in goals scored and 4th to last in shots on goal per game. They do have a bright spot with the 4th best power play in the league, converting 27.1% of the time.
On defense, their borderline terrible. They do rank 18th for goals allowed but are 26th in shots allowed per game. Detroit is good on the power play, but absolutely bad on the penalty kill with the worst in the league. Luckily, they’re only averaging 3 penalties a game, so it keeps them off the PK.
Goalie Cam Talbot is expected in net. He is 15-10-2 this season with a 2.79 GAA and a .909 save percentage. Talbot got the win the last time they faced, allowing on 2 goals with 31 saves made.
Seattle will try to cool off this red-hot Detroit team

The Seattle Kraken team celebrates after a game winning goal.
Seattle is 23-28-3 this season and are 7th in the Pacific Division. They’re coming into this game off a loss to the Flames on Sunday night and are 5-5-0 in their 10 games. The Kraken are .500 at home for the most part with a 13-13-3 record.
Their offense has its moments, for the most part needs a lot of work. They rank 15th in goals scored but are 26th in shots on goal per game. Their power play ranks towards the bottom of the league at 24th but shoot decent ranking 9th.
Defensively, this team ranks toward the bottom like offense. They’re 26th in goals allowed and 19th in shots on goal allowed per game. Their averaging just over 3 penalties per game and rank 21st in penalty kill, so they need to play smarter hockey.
Goalie Joey Daccord is expected to get the start. He has a 18-13-2 record with a 2.45 GAA and a .916 save percentage. Daccord came in mid-game last time these 2 faced and finished the game for Grubauer. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

There is only one other team hotter than the Red Wings and that’s the New York Islanders (yeah buddy). The Kraken aren’t having the greatest season, and this isn’t a bounce back spot for them. It’s a Red Wings keep rolling spot.
Detroit has been playing smart hockey with only 2 of the 6 games decided by 1 goal. Dylan Larkin has been played like a man of a mission. He has 3 goals and 3 assists on 33 shots on goal in total over the past 6 games. Lucas Raymond is another guy who has been contributing from all around.
I like for Larkin to record 3 or more shots on and to record a point. He’s coming off a stinker with 1 shot and no points, so this is the perfect rebound for him. Larkin had 1 goal and 1 assist with 3 shots on goal in the last game in January.
The total is low in my opinion, so I lean for this game to over the 5.5 goals. They put up 8 goals in the last game they played. Both goalies are also averaging just under 3 goals a game, so it’s very doable for them to score 3 each.
