We’ve got five games across the NHL tonight, so let’s glance at the entire slate and see if we can scare up any best bets on the ice. I’ll admit, I have not been betting this league all season, but I’ve stayed in touch with what’s going on, and now that College Hoops is over, my full focus will be turned towards the stick and puck as the playoffs quick approach.
Let’s get it!
Toronto Maple Leafs vs Tampa Bay Lightning Best Bets

Vasilevskiy is still between the posts for the Lightning
Best Bets: Under 6 (-109) BetOnline
These teams have played three times already, soaring over this number in all three games. In fact, the Maple Leafs have won and scored 5 goals exactly when facing the Lightning this season, however, the last meeting was in late January. It’s been over two months since these teams faced off, and I think we are due for an under.
Toronto and Tampa Bay are locked in to a seeding race with Florida, as four points separate the top seeded Leafs from the Panthers with the Lightning in between. I trust both defenses to be very sound tonight in this season series finale, as the hosts try to find at least one victory this year over their divisional opponent.
Tampa Bay is significantly better at home and ultimately have the better goaltender, even if Vasi hasn’t been playing like it recently. The Lightning have stayed under 6 in 3 of their last 4, while Toronto has been involved in 5 straight unders. Let’s keep those trends going tonight in a low scoring matchup.
St. Louis Blues vs Edmonton Oilers Best Bets

Connor McDavid and the Oilers host the Blues tonight
Best Bets: Oilers ML (-126) BetOnline
Normally I don’t like backing a team going for the season sweep of their opponent, but I feel confident in this one. The Oilers have gotten the best of the Blues twice this season already, both in close games, but being back in Edmonton helps this team a ton.
The Oilers just got off a four game road trip where they lost their last two. At home tonight is the perfect moment to turn things around before the playoffs begin. Plus, Edmonton still needs a few points to guarantee a spot. The Blues are also battling to make the playoffs, but they might be on their way back down to Earth.
St. Louis had won 12 straight before losing at Winnipeg on Monday Night. This team has been playing well and put themselves in a position for a postseason push, however I think they might be in for a wake up call against the Oilers. Edmonton made the Stanley Cup Finals last year, and they are back at home coming off two losses. The Oilers are the much more talented team on paper, they’ve proven it twice against St. Louis already this season, and I see them completing the season sweep tonight at home.
