It was a nice welcoming for JT Miller yesterday for New York. Today, the Rangers will host the Vegas Golden Knights at MSG. These 2 teams just played last month and the Rangers grinded out a 2-1 win. Today’s Knights vs Rangers picks will be good from this game!

Let’s start with Vegas. They are sneakily killing it out West with a 31-15-6 and are 1st in the Pacific. I say sneakily because you don’t hear too many people talking about them. The Knights come into this game on a 2-game skid that they’re looking to break. This is the start of a 4-game road trip in the East for the Knights.

Their offense has been buzzing this year. They rank in the top 5 for goals scored and shots on goal per game as well as power play percentage. Vegas shoots the puck well with a 11% hit rate, ranking 10th in the league. Guys like Mark Stone and Jack Eichel continue to lead this offense. Eichel currently sits with 64 points which is 9th most in the league.

Vegas’ defense is pretty tight. They rank in the top 10 of the league for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. They commit the fewest penalties in the league, but their penalty kill isn’t the best, so good thing for them. This team can play, complete 2-way hockey.

We are expected to see Adin Hill in net today. He is 19-9-4 with a 2.64 GAA and a .901 save percentage. Hill is 1-1 in his last 2 games vs the Rangers, but that spans back to the 2023 season.

New York is 24-23-4 this season and 6th in the Metro Division. They’re coming off a loss to the Bruins yesterday bringing their home record to 12-11-2 this season. In their last 10 games, the Rangers have gone 5-3-2.

A big-time move was made by the Rangers a few days ago by acquiring JT Miller from the Canucks via trade. He is a former Ranger and showed he fits right back in with 2 goals in yesterday’s game. Miller brings 11 goals and 26 assists to this Rangers team.

The toughest part for the Rangers is playing defense. They rank 20th in the league for goals allowed and 28th in shots on goal allowed per game. New York commits over 4 penalties a game, but their penalty kill is very good, ranking 4th in the league.

Goalie Jonathan Quick is expected in net tonight to give Shesterkin a break. Quick is 6-5-2 this season with a 3.11 GAA and a .897 save percentage. He had a hot start but has since cooled off losing his last 4 out of 5 games. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

I do like Vegas here. They’re coming off 2 back-to-back OT losses and this is a great bounce back spot. It seems almost every team, or at least a lot of players, loves to play and show out in Madison Square Garden.

This Vegas offense is balls to the wall, and I don’t think the Rangers defense has come together enough. Guys like Tomas Hertl and Mark Stone have some great history vs the Rangers and they also won’t face Shesterkin.

Give me JT Miller to record 3 or more shots on goal. After the game he had yesterday and now home in the Garden, I find it hard to believe he doesn’t shoot the puck.

I also like for Jonathan Quick to record over his saves line, which should come out around 26-27 saves. The Knights should pepper him and he should see over 30 shots.
