See Picks & Statistics For The GameWe have a scorching hot New York team head up North to Winnipeg. The Islanders will take on the red-hot Winnipeg Jets at Canada Life Centre. This will be the 1st time these 2 teams face each other and we have you covered for Islanders vs Jets picks.
The Islanders are on a hot streak as of late. They won 7 straight games in a row and are 8-2-0 in their last 10 games. New York comes in off a nice win over the Golden Knights by a 2-1 score. Current winning aside, they’re 25-21-7 this season and have moved back to 5th in the Metro Division.
This team has a continuous problem that past few years and that’s find the back of the net. They have brought in offensive guys like Bo Horvat and Anthony Duclair but still rank 26th in goals scored per game. New York has improved with shooting and average 28.6 shots on goal per game.
On defense, the Islanders have been much better over the years. Roy isn’t as much of a defense first coach, but they may need to rethink that. They rank 12th in goals allowed (thanks Sorokin) and 16th in shots on goal allowed per game. This team is terrible on special teams, ranking last in power play and 2nd to last in penalty kill.
Goalie Ilya Sorkin has been confirmed for tomorrow. He’s 20-14-4 this season with a 2.58 GAA and a .910 save percentage. Sorokin is 7-0-0 in this last 7 games with a 1.16 GAA and a .961 save percentage. A huge testament to the team’s current success.
Winnipeg will look to win their 8th game in a row

Jets forward Gabe Vilardi celebrates after scoring a goal on Islanders goalie Ilya Sorokin.
Winnipeg is 38-14-3 this season, 1st in the Central Division and the best team in the league. They come into this game riding a 7-game winning streak and don’t look to slow down. The Jets are 8-2-0 in their last 10 games and are 21-5-3 at home this season.
The Jets are firing on all cylinders, from offense to defense. They score the most goals per game and have the best power play in the league. Winnipeg only ranks 17th in shots on goal per game but have the 2nd best shooting percentage at 12.7%.
This team’s defense is rock solid as well. They’re the best in the league for goals allowed, but again 17th in shots on goal allowed per game. Winnipeg is fantastic on the penalty kill that ranks 2nd best in the league.
Goalie Connor Hellebuyck will get the start. The best goalie in the league is 33-7-2 with a 2.04 GAA and a .925 save percentage. Hellebuyck is looking to win the Vezina back-to-back. Let’s check out the odds and get into the picks.

I kind of like both teams here. The Islanders win games they shouldn’t, and the Jets are flying high (no pun intended). We are also seeing 2 goals who one is extremely hot, and the other is having another career year.
Considering, I do think the Jets win this game. Their offense and special teams on both ends of the ice are way better than the Islanders. New York’s defense is going to have a very hard time controlling the Jets offense and it will put a lot of pressure on Sorokin.
For some props, I like for Sorokin to get over his saves line, which should be around 27-28 saves. I know the Jets only average 27 shots on goal a game, but this offense will have their way with the Isles and Sorokin’s going to get peppered in the end.
Brock Nelson has hit his shots line his in last 9 out of 10 games and his last 5 straight vs Winnipeg. His regular like is 2+ shots, but extremely juiced. We’re going to take him for 3+ which he hit his last 2 vs the Jets and 3 of his last 4 games. The volume is there with him averaging 5 attempts per game over his last 3 games.
