Round Two is in full swing now as every team has played at least one game. Games have been a bit tighter than Round One so it’s important to find some value and take a bit of a gamble on it (unless you go all unders like a crazy person) Let’s find some amazing discounts on player props when everything is on the line. We are 61-56 record over the last 37 articles of my Betting News NHL best bet articles with a positive unit size due to plenty of plus money plays cashing. Now it’s time to bring it to the playoffs.
We will be breaking down NHL best bets here at Betting News all playoffs long! Each article will look for VALUE, as in straights you can take to build up your bankroll or pieces you can use to beef up your parlays. All bets will be -135 or better odds. And while we will focus on NHL player props, there are times we will take sides and totals. So keep your eyes peeled here as we will drop these throughout the week.
And if you haven’t already be sure to check out some of my favorite futures and awards. So time to lace them up and get ready to ride with Betzky for my favorite NHL Playoff Series best bet.
1. Aliaksei Protas o1.5 SOG +105 on BetOnline:

Dylan Strome will have his favorite winger with him again
Back from injury, the Washington Capitals big bully of a forward Aliaksei Protas was one of the lone bright stars for the team in game one. And while the Capitals were able to get the game to overtime, they were outplayed for most of the game. The Capitals will need to use their big bodied players a bit more to slow down the storm of the Carolina Hurricanes. And Protas could have another big game.
Protas isn’t a high volume shooter. Instead he works his magic in close by the net. And the Hurricanes could struggle to keep him out of his office if he plays another big game. He scored the lone Capitals goal off a 2 SOG, 5 shot attempt performance. And we get an amazing price at +105 for two shots.
The price is factoring in a couple things. First the Hurricanes allowed the 2nd least amount of shots against all season. And second, not only did Protas miss his 1.5 SOG line only 50% of the time, it seems like the Capitals are easing him back into the lineup. He initially started on the 4th line in game one, and is penciled in to start on that line again tonight. However, by mid way through the game he was back on the top line with Ovichekin and Strome. Factor this in for a great discount on a prop that could cash early! Protas SOG looks like an NHL best bets tonight.

2. Ivan Barbeshev Point +135 on BetOnline:

Ivan Barbashev back on the top line for the Vegas Golden Knights
One way to tackle the playoffs is grabbing complimentary forwards who are playing with elite players on top lines. We did that with St Louis Blues props in Round One and now power forward Ivan Barbashev has been bumped up to the top line for the Vegas Golden Knights. Barbashev became a very valuable player for the Golden Knights in their Cup winning run, showing his piss and vinegar complimented Jack Eichel and Mark Stone’s playmaking.
At +135 we get a ton of value on his point. The price is set this way as he has only 2 points in the playoffs, which both game in the same game. However, he had been playing in the bottom 9 until tonight’s match. In that Stanley Cup run Barbashev put up 18 points in 22 games, with 7 goals. He has the ability to help his team dominant, and the Golden Knights desperately need a spark. Add it all up and Barbasev point looks like an NHL best bets tonight.

3. Corey Perry Point +125 on BetOnline:

Corey Perry is on the top line with McDavid making his point a best bet
We are using the exact same strategy of our Ivan Barbeshev play for our last NHL bet bet of the article. Another player who may not put up eye popping numbers, but is in a very good situation to get on the scoresheet. When you play with the best player in the world, you have a good chance to get on the scoresheet. Ageless wonder and supreme playoff pest Corey Perry is playing with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl on the Edmonton Oilers’ top line. Two players who can score at will, so let’s take the plus money value and run with it.
Perry has 4 points in the playoffs this season in 7 games played. While he only has a point in three of those games, he has slowly made his way up the lineup. He is even getting time on the 2nd power play unit. His line mates McDavid and Draisaitl have put up 13 and 12 points in seven games respectively. Both have had 4 multi-point games. If they continue this dominance Perry should get involved.
The cherry on top is despite his age, Perry has had good history against the Vegas Golden Knights. He has a point in 8 of the last 13 games, a 62% hit rate. Add this all up and you can see why this is an NHL best bets tonight at plus money.
