NHL Best Bets 2/6/2025

There are only a couple more days until the NHL will be one a two week break. And players may already be thinking about their trips to Cabo, so we will want to avoid landmines tonight. So to find some discounted props we will look for teams fighting for a playoff spot and younger, hungry players. Let’s find some “coupons” on some NHL best bets to get great deals. 1. Pierre-Luc Dubios Point -110 on BetOnline:

Don’t look now, but Pierre-Luc Dubios is having a career season. After a disappointing season in Los Angeles, he has found a home in Washington, with a point in 62% of ALL games for the Capitals. He helps Washington have a robust, and tough top six and adds depth scoring both on the second line and second power play unit. So why such a big discount? Let’s take a look why PLD is worth a snip as an NHL best bet?

There seems to be a lot of recency bias against Pierre-Luc Dubios and just how bad he was last season. It has felt hard to trust PLD, even though he has had four, four game point streaks and a point in 14 of the last 20 games. Tonight the Capitals will be taking on the Flyers who also seem to be painted as a defensive stalwart of a team.

However, that’s just not the case, especially tonight. The Flyers will be starting Fedotov who has a 3.2 goals against average and .881 save percentage. One worry here is how motivated the Capitals will be considering the are near the top of the league and have a big break coming up. However, if they want to continue to battle for the Presidents Trophy each win will matter. And with a bad goalie in net, maybe it is the young 2nd line that helps produce.

2. Filip Chytil Point +100 on BetOnline:

One player who should be very hungry is Filip Chytil. Just last week he was traded from the New York Rangers to the Vancouver Canucks where he now plays center in their top 6. This is a huge increase in role and talent around him, as he plays on a line with Brock Boeser. And he has impressed in two games with a point and 3 SOG in each game.

JT Miller and Elias Pettersson both played center in the Canucks top 6 until Miller was traded for Chytil. Both put up 100+ points in this situation. And while Chytil doesn’t have the same upside, it would come to no surprise if he elevates his game close to a point per game pace on the Canucks. But due to the unknowns here we get his point at a discounted price of +100.

Better yet the Canucks will face the San Jose Sharks tonight. The Sharks are allowing the most goals against in the league and will be starting Vanecek in net. Vanecek has a miserable 3.84 goas against average and .885 save percentage. Add this all up and you can see why Chytil point is an NHL best bet at a discount.

3. Claude Giroux Point -125 on BetOnline:

The Ottawa Senators had a five game point streak snapped by the Tampa Bay Lightning two nights ago. The Senators need every win in order to keep pushing for a playoff spot. All of their players should be motivated to play their best hockey all the way until the Four Nations break, especially tonight against…the Tampa Bay Lightning.

That’s correct, the Senators will face the same team twice in a row, both in Tampa. And while the Lightning have been a strong team defensively, only allowing the 20th most goals against per game, the Senators have a stacked top line that love to play up to the Bolts. Giroux in particular has a great history against Tampa, with a point in 12 of his last 17 games against them. He’s also on a 6 game point streak.

We are getting a nice discount here due to the opponent and Giroux’s recent cold streak. Before this six game point streak, Giroux only had a point in 5 of 14 games. He was recently put on the top line with Brady Tkachuk to spark the teams offense and has been rolling. Better yet, Brady has a point in 11 of his last 13 games against Tampa. You can stack these two together or just roll with Giroux for a discounted NHL best bet.
