Last Thursday stung. A rare losing night going 1-2 and -.65u for the article (thank you Dylan Holloway and your +135 point prop!). But today’s a new day and it’s time to get back to the green in a sneaky great NHL slate. The articles are now a 13-8 record over the last 7 articles! Let’s stay hot and keep the profits rolling to help fund your holidays!
We will be breaking down NHL best bets here at Betting News all season! Each article will look for VALUE, as in straights you can take to build up your bankroll or pieces you can use to beef up your parlays. All bets will be -135 or better odds. And while we will focus on NHL player props, there are times we will take sides and totals. So keep your eyes peeled here as we will drop these throughout the week.
And if you haven’t already be sure to check out some of my favorite futures and awards. So time to lace them up and get ready to ride with Betzky for my favorite NHL best bets for 12/10/2024!
1. Mitch Marner 2+ Points +175 on BetOnline:
Mitch Marner took those trade rumors to heart this offseason. He is on an INSANE point production pace. He has 10 goals and 28 assist for 38 total points in 27 games this season. And for several weeks he was constantly putting up points without top center Auston Matthews. While tonight’s match may be a bit tougher we are getting fantastic value on his 2+ point prop.
Marner has 8 multi-point games over the last 10 games. Tonight he will roll into New Jersey to take down the Devils. One reason we may be getting a great price on his prop is due to the fact that the Devils are a decent team defensively. However, over the last 11 home games the Devils are allowing the 2nd most goals against, averaging 3.55 goals against in those home games.
The area where Marner and the Leafs can really take advantage of the Devils is on the power play. The Devils have the 8th worst penalty kill over the last 10 home games. If you want something a little less risky you could take Marner assist for -145 or even combine him and Auston Matthews for a point. But at +175 this is just too tasty not to take, making it an NHL best bet.

2. Shayne Gostisbehere Assist –130 on BetOnline:
The Carolina Hurricanes need a win. BAD. They have only won once in the last five games, including two beatdowns by the Florida Panthers and a loss to the Kraken at home. They need to get their engines roaring again, and what better opponent than the San Jose Sharks to start rolling again. The Sharks are allowing the 2nd most goals against in the league over the last 10 games and just gave up 8 goals to the Lightning. Time to feast.
Gostisbehere has been red hot again. He has a point in 7 of the last 11 games, putting up 10 points in those games. Of those 11 points all but one are an assist. He quarterbacks the top power play unit for the Hurricanes which gives him ample opportunity to help get in on a goal. In fact his power play point for +160 looks like a fantastic play as well.
The power play may be Gostisbehere’s bread and butter. He has put up 9 power play points in the last 10 games. That gives you two great options for props in this game. Gostisbehere has an incredible history against the Sharks, making these plays NHL best bets. He has a point in 5 of the last 7 matches against San Jose with 7 points in those games.

3. Brandon Montour Point +145 on BetOnline:
Revenge can be so sweet. While Brandon Montour has played for several teams across his NHL career, it was the Florida Panthers who helped turn him into a top defenseman. He had a career year as a Panther along with winning the Stanley Cup last season with them. He took his services to Seattle this offseason as they won him over in free agency. Now he gets to play the Panthers for the first time since being a member of the Ice Cats.
This price is VERY suspicious. Montour is often in the -130 or lower range for his point prop. Getting plus money would have felt great, but at nearly 1.5x your bet, this point prop is hard to turn down. Montour has a point in 7 of his last 10 games and 54% of all games this season. While he is better on the road, he should have extra motivation tonight against his former team.
The Panthers have allowed the 8th most goals against over the last 10 road games. And while Seattle isn’t exactly an offensive dynamo, they have put up 20 goals in their last 5 games. At this price his point is too tempting not to ride. As long as this isn’t a trap, all things point to Montour’s point being a NHL best bet tonight.
