Broncos vs Bengals NFL Week 17 Predictions & Picks (12/28)
Both of these teams need to win this weekend if they want to keep their postseason hopes alive.
The Broncos are currently the AFC’s No. 7 seed and will clinch a playoff berth if pick up their 10th win of the season at Paycor Stadium. Meanwhile, the Bengals are currently two victories outside of the postseason picture and must win their remaining two games (along with some outside help) if they want to play more games come January.
Both sides have seen their fair share of momentum ahead of the NFL Week 17 action. The Bengals extended their win streak to three games with last week’s 24-6 victory over the Cleveland Browns, which was made possible due to Joe Burrow’s three-touchdown performance. Having said that, it’s worth pointing out how the win was only Cincinnati’s second at Paycor Stadium this season, leaving time to tell if that was a fluke or not.
Meanwhile, the Broncos will look to return to the win column after a 34-27 loss to the rival Los Angeles Chargers halted the former’s win streak at four games. Even though Denver has been one of the biggest surprises this season, a 1-3 SU record in its last four road games doesn’t exactly inspire confidence ahead of a trip to Cincinnati.
Will the Bengals be able to take advantage of the Broncos’ recent road issues?
One of the game’s biggest storylines will be Denver’s defense vs. Cincinnati’s offense. The Bengals are averaging 28.2 points (6th) and an NFL-leading 267.3 passing yards per game this season. Meanwhile, the Broncos are only surrendering 18.7 PPG (4th) and are only giving up 319.6 total yards per outing (9th).
It wouldn’t be surprising if the Broncos’ elite defense leads to this game being closer than expected, especially since they’re 11-4 ATS this season. The Bengals have been more inconsistent in that regard, going 9-6 ATS overall as well as 2-4 ATS as the home favorite. Conversely, the Broncos are 4-2 ATS as the away underdog.
With that in mind, let’s go with the Bengals winning but the Broncos covering the spread. Cincinnati’s offense is more than good enough to outgun Denver’s attack and the Paycor Stadium crowd should give the home team a boost. Having said that, the Bronco’s defense is good enough to keep things close and it wouldn’t be a shock if they wound up winning outright.

Broncos vs Bengals NFL Week 17 Player Prop Bet
I feel pretty confident about Joe Burrow o24.5 completions (-136 on SportsBetting) being the best Broncos vs. Bengals Week 17 player prop bet.
After all, Burrow is averaging a solid 28.1 completions with a 68.0% success rate in his last eight starts. He finished with 25-plus completions in seven consecutive outings before missing the mark against the Browns last week, however, it’s worth noting that he only finished two completions short of hitting the Over again.
Even though the Broncos own one of the NFL’s best pass defenses this season, they have been consistently stopping quarterbacks lately. They allowed an average of 24.8 completions in their last four games, putting Burrow in the perfect position to keep that trend going.
With 49.5 points projected to be on the board this weekend, there should be more than enough opportunities for the former 2020 first-overall pick to hit the Over again in Cincy.
Best Broncos vs. Bengals Player Prop: Joe Burrow o23.5 Completions (-136)
