Timberwolves vs Mavericks NBA Christmas Predictions & Picks (12/25)
These Western Conference contenders have already met once this season. That clash occurred way back at Target Center on Oct. 29 as the Mavericks notched a 120-114 road victory against the Timberwolves, led by Kyrie Irving’s game-high 35 points which included going 6-of-8 from the three-point line.
It wasn’t that surprising of an outcome, though, considering how the Mavericks are now 5-1 SU across their last six encounters with the Timberwolves since the 2023-24 postseason. It’s worth noting that the majority of those games were close as four were decided by one or two possessions.
The Mavericks will look to continue that dominance following Monday’s lopsided 132-108 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Jason Kidd’s team is now 14-3 SU since losing seven of its first 12 games to begin the campaign, which includes outscoring the last seven teams to visit American Airlines Center by an average of 13.6 PPG.
The Timberwolves, meanwhile, just suffered a third consecutive defeat with a 117-104 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Monday. Even though it’s a small sample size, the fact that Minnesota is only averaging 104.7 PPG with a minus-16.3 scoring margin amid its skid is quite concerning.
The Timberwolves have struggled on both ends of the court in their last three games.
Although the Timberwolves are normally defensively sound, they’ve allowed their last three opponents to average 121 PPG. That isn’t exactly a great look as they go up against the Mavericks, who are putting up 118.8 PPG (5th) while shooting 48.8% from the field (5th) and 37.7% from the three-point line (6th) this season. The fact that Minnesota also hasn’t scored 110-plus points in 11 straight games suggests that it won’t be able to match Dallas’ offense.
At the end of the day, I predict that the Mavericks will win and cover the spread on Christmas Day. The Mavs are an impressive 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games, as well as 6-1 ATS in their latest seven home outings. The Timberwolves, on the other hand, are 2-4 ATS in their last six outings as well as 2-10 ATS in their 12 previous run-ins with a Southwest Division franchise.

Best Timberwolves vs Mavericks NBA Christmas Player Prop (12/25)
You can’t go wrong with backing Luka Doncic o3.5 threes made (-120 on SportsBetting) for the best Timberwolves vs. Mavericks NBA Christmas player prop bet.
In his last seven games, Doncic is averaging an impressive 3.9 threes made on 9.7 attempts per night (39.7%). The Slovenian superstar finished with four-plus three-pointers four times during that stretch, which includes two occasions where he successfully hit six shots from deep. He now gets a juicy matchup in the form of the T-wolves, who are surrendering the most three-pointers (18.0) on the second-highest percentage (43.9%) during their three-game slide.
Between the regular season and playoffs, Doncic has had a ton of recent three-point success against Minnesota. In his last seven games against the Timberwolves, the five-time NBA All-Star is averaging 4.1 3PM with a 39.7% success rate, finishing with the Over in five of those appearances.
With the way that the Timberwolves are poorly guarding the perimeter, look for Doncic to rack up the threes on Christmas Day.
Best Timberwolves vs. Mavericks Player Prop Bet: Luka Doncic o3.5 Threes Made (-120)
