Memphis vs #17 Tulane Bet
For some, Thanksgiving is all about NFL football. For others, it’s about a classic American Conference showdown. Memphis heads to New Orleans to face No. 17 Tulane in the final game of the regular season. This game carries much more weight for Tulane than Memphis, as the Tigers, sitting at 5-2 in conference play, are out of the American Conference Championship race. Meanwhile, the Green Wave will look to dominate on senior night, leaving no doubt for the playoff committee about their worthiness for a College Football Playoff spot.
The No. 17 Green Wave have been a powerhouse all season, steamrolling opponents they were expected to beat. Their only blemishes came early in the season against Kansas State and Oklahoma. Since then, they have been nearly unstoppable, winning seven of their last eight games by double digits. Tulane boasts one of the country’s most explosive offenses and a suffocating defense. Their defense ranks 12th nationally in points allowed, giving up just 15 points per game at home, while their offense ranks third, averaging nearly 40 points per contest.
Memphis will face an uphill battle against Tulane’s talent on both sides of the ball. While the Tigers have been involved in their share of high-scoring games, they can’t match Tulane’s dominance. The comparison is clear: Memphis fell to Navy 56-44 earlier this season, while Tulane shut out the same Navy squad 35-0 just last week—both games played at Navy.
With the stakes high for Tulane and so much motivation on their side, the Green Wave should take care of business in this Thanksgiving matchup. The spread may be big, but with an offense that can score in bunches and a defense capable of stifling any attack, this one has Tulane written all over it.
