NCAA Basketball Best Bets – February 12th, 2025
Stanford vs Georgia Tech Predictions

Back the Yellow Jackets tonight at home
Best Bets: Georgia Tech ML (-115) BetOnline
Check out why Colby Marchio is taking the home team tonight in this ACC battle.
VCU vs George Washington Predictions

Shulga plays 32 minutes and contributes 15 points, 6 boards and 4 assists for the Rams
Best Bets: VCU/GW Under 142 (-110) BetOnline
Back the under in this defensive contest tonight. Both of these teams already play slow and are much better at defending the ball than putting it in the hoop.
VCU ranks 28th overall defensively, 9th in eFG% defense and 17th in forcing turnovers. Those stats are all Top 20 at home, and Top 3 in the conference. The Rams are actually the top offense in the A-10 in terms of overall efficiency, but that’s mainly due to their 195th ranking in possessions per game. George Washington ranks 212th and 213th in offensive efficiency and eFG%, but defensively, they rank 68th and 34th in the country. They are also Top 50 in FT Rate defense and 75th in turnovers forced, so don’t expect very many trips to the free throw line.
The Revolutionaries are prone to play to their hosts pace, as they drop to 165th in possessions per game on the road this season. While their offense is 2nd to last in conference play in both efficiency and eFG%, their defense is 2nd and 1st in those categories on the road. The offense does not travel well with G-Dub, but the defense certainly does, and I expect it to show out on the road tonight.
#19 Ole Miss vs South Carolina Predictions

Collin Murray-Boyles leads the Gamecocks in points and rebounds
Best Bets: South Carolina +5 (-105) BetOnline
Colby Marchio is backing the Gamecocks at home to cover, do you agree?
LSU vs Arkansas Predictions

Cam Carter leads the Tigers in points, minutes and assists this year
Best Bets: LSU +9.5 (-110) BetOnline
It’s disgusting, it’s nasty, it’s gross…. but it just might work. Back the Tigers with me tonight in Fayetteville.
This team sucks. They are 1-9 in SEC play this year, with their lone victory coming against this Razorbacks team about a month ago. Normally the revenge spot at home would scare me, but this game was a pick ’em in Baton Rouge, now the Hogs are nearly double digit favorites. That is quite the swing, even with the way both teams have been playing. But let’s look into it more.
Since losing to LSU, Arkansas has played six Top 50 games, going just 3-3 in the process. They were just 1-2 at home in that stretch as well, and are coming off a home loss to Alabama where there were 166 total points scored. The Razorbacks just had an incredibly hard stretch of games, and now LSU (77th on Bart Torvik) comes to town before they have another four game stretch of Top 40 opponents. Arkansas goes to College Station this Saturday and to Auburn next Wednesday. Despite the revenge narrative, if LSU’s defense shows up, they have a chance to sweep the Hogs this season. This is a spot where I see Arkansas getting caught taking a night off.
Hogs Caught Sleeping at Home
Arkansas ranks 89th overall offensively and 84th in eFG%, but those numbers drop to 147th and 183rd at home. They can’t and don’t shoot threes, but play very fast. I see this being a very defensive game, as LSU will try to slow things down and battle it out on defense. The Tigers 57th ranked defense improves to 27th overall on the road, dropping 50 spots in pace as well.
They are 1-5 on the road SU and ATS this season, and Arkansas has all the motivation in this game. However, it might just be nasty enough to cash, as I think 9.5 is too much for the Hogs to cover tonight.
Wyoming vs New Mexico Predictions

Dent leads the Lobos in scoring and assists this year
Best Bets: New Mexico -15.5 (-105) Bovada
Back the Lobos at home. This big number does not scare me at all, because New Mexico loves to run.
They are 2-1 as a double digit favorite in Mountain West play, and 4-2 as a three possession favorite as well. They will certainly control the pace of this game at home, especially considering the Cowboys were able to do just that in Laramie. New Mexico barely covered the 7 point spread, beating Wyoming by 8 as only 114 points were scored, soaring under the total of 144.5. Now back in Albuquerque, the spread has more than doubled in the Lobos’ favor while the total has ticked down a couple points.
To me, that smells like a dominant win for the home team. That is a drastic line move, mixed with not much dancing from the total seems like New Mexico wins this game by 20+ with ease. Last time in Laramie, the Lobos had one of their worst offensive outings of the season, posting a 37.7 eFG%. At home, I don’t see that happening again.
Lobos Go Loco in New Mexico
The Lobos love to run, which will give their middle of the pack offense plenty of possessions to put the ball in the hoop. On the other side of the ball, they will lock down the Cowboys. New Mexico is Top 40 in defensive efficiency at home, and Top 10 at offensive rebounds allowed. They take great care of the basketball as well, so good looks at the hoop should happen on most possessions.
New Mexico is 7-3 ATS at home this season, and have covered 5 of their L6 on their own court as well. Wyoming has lost 9 of their L12 contests, they are on a 3 game losing streak, and they are bottom 20 in turning the ball over on the road. The Cowboys rank north of 260 in eFG% and FT Rate defensively, and like I mentioned, they don’t like to be sped up. They controlled the pace at home, but they won’t in this second matchup.
Give me the Lobos to run all over Wyoming and cover this spread tonight.
