NCAA Basketball Predictions, Odds & Best Bets (2/6)

Thursday brings us plenty of low to mid-major College Hoops so lets get into the betting board and find our best bets!

NCAA Basketball Best Bets – February 6th, 2025

North Carolina A&T vs Charleston Predictions

Best Bets: NCA&T/Charleston Over 154 (-110) BetOnline

Everyone likes rooting for points, so that’s exactly what we are doing in Charleston today. We have two incredibly fast teams, both ranking in the Top 25 in possessions per game. Our hosts do a much better job at getting to the free throw line on their own court, and their eFG% skyrockets to 72nd in the nation.

The Cougars are also the 4th best three point shooting team in the country at home, knocking down over 42.5% and shooting from deep over 40% of the time. Defensively, they aren’t that special, ranking 276th in turnovers forced and 235th in eFG%. While NCA&T is very fast, the only thing they do well is take care of the basketball where they are 3rd in the nation.

Their offense ironically improves on the road, but defensively they rank 345th overall, and are north of 175 in 3P Rate defense. Charleston is coming off a loss, and are a couple games back of Towson who leads the CAA. The Cougars can’t afford to drop a game to a bad team at home, and I expect them to come out flying offensively. I did glance at their TT at 86.5, however I have faith in the visiting Aggies to contribute to the over.

Hampton vs Monmouth Predictions

Best Bets: Hampton/Monmouth Under 142 (-110) BetOnline

We are rooting for points above, here we want no points! Defense… Defense…

Monmouth is coming off scoring 104 and 92 in their last two outings, essentially their two best offensive performances this year. They are not fast enough to keep this up, and they really aren’t anything special on offense. The hosting Hawks are actually 326th in eFG% offensively and they jump nearly 200 spots up to 109th in FT Rate at home. Monmouth also boasts a Top 45 eFG% defense at home as well, and I think they can slow down Hampton.

Monmouth is already 220th in pace, and Hampton ranks even slower at 299th in possessions per game. Their offense is atrocious. The Pirates do crash the glass fairly well, but overall they rank 284th offensively and 329th in eFG%. In this slow paced game, neither offense will be good enough to push this over.

Niagara vs Merrimack Predictions

Best Bets: Merrimack -8 (-110) BetOnline

Here we go again backing the Merrimack Warriors. While their offense isn’t statistically the best, they play ver slow, take great care of the basketball, and they’ve got Budd Clark leading the charge. Merrimack is Top 25 in both turnover rate offense and defense, plus their defense is Top 50 in eFG%. While they struggle to get to the free throw line, they are Top 15 in FT Rate defense, so their opponent won’t get any cheap points either.

This does seem like a big number considering the total is only at 128, however I’ve watched this team play enough, they can get it done. The Warriors are coming off a win, but they lost to Mount Saint Mary’s at home their last time on their home court. I see them bouncing back for their fans in this one.

Merrimack already beat Niagara once on the road. The Warriors were 2 point favorites and won by 18. The Purple Eagles are no match for Clark and the Warriors, and I see them getting a very easy win against tonight. Niagara is just 7-14 ATS this year and 2-8 ATS on the road. Give me Merrimack to roll at home.
