See Picks & Statistics For The GameUConn may be a 14-point favorite tonight, but that number feels way too high for a team that has underwhelmed all season. The Huskies have struggled to cover big spreads, while Georgetown has been strong defensively and consistently competitive as an underdog. With the Hoyas playing solid basketball and UConn’s pace likely keeping this game low-scoring, Georgetown is in a great spot to keep it close.

Georgetown vs UConn Best Bet
I want to put out there that I am personally a massive Dan Hurley fan, but why in the hell is this UConn team a 14-point favorite in this matchup? This team has been a complete disappointment all season. Against the spread, the Huskies are 11-16, underperforming the entire year. Now, they take on a Georgetown team at home that they already beat 68-60 on January 11, covering the five-and-a-half-point spread. The Huskies have not covered a double-digit spread since their road win over DePaul on January 1, an 11.5-point spread. They have not covered a spread as high as 14 since their dominant win over UMES as 41-point favorites. This is a lot of respect for a bad Huskies team, and I think it is all Hoyas tonight.
On the road this season, Georgetown has been fantastic on defense, ranked 38th in adjusted defensive efficiency. They excel at defending both inside and outside and rank in the top 130 in forcing turnovers. Offensively, they have maintained a top-110 rating, solid on the inside but not the best three-point shooting team. However, they attack the glass, ranking 167th in offensive rebounding.
Georgetown’s last two games have been interesting—destroying Providence at home 93-72 as short favorites, then losing to Creighton on the road 80-69, but still covered the 12.5-point spread. Now, they take on a slightly lesser team as 14-point underdogs. Too much respect for Hurley and his boys.
Georgetown Trends ATS
- 5-2 as road underdogs
- 8-3 as double-digit underdogs
- 6-3-1 after a loss
- 7-3-1 with equal rest
- 11-7-1 with 2-3 days off
In conference play, the Huskies have struggled tremendously on defense. Bart Torvik ranks them as the ninth-best defense in the Big East. They struggle to rebound, send teams to the line, and defend the perimeter—areas Georgetown will look to exploit. With UConn likely slowing the game down to a turtle-like pace, points will come at a premium. Unless Georgetown forces their up-tempo style, this will be a low-scoring game, making it even tougher for UConn to win by double digits.
UConn Trends ATS
- 4-12 in conference
- 1-5 as a double-digit favorite in conference
- 6-13-1 as a favorite
- 4-8-1 as a home favorite
Georgetown’s defense should be able to hold the Huskies down and keep this one close. Give me the Hoyas as two-touchdown underdogs tonight in Storrs.
Best Bet: Georgetown (+14) on BetOnline
