Samford and Furman square off in a fast-paced rematch after the Paladins edged out a 72-70 win last month. This time, the Bulldogs are sizable home favorites, and the tempo is set to skyrocket. With both offenses primed for a bounce-back, all signs point to a high-scoring affair.

Furman vs Samford Best Bet
A little rematch from January 29, when Furman took down Samford 72-70 on the road as short underdogs. Now, the Bulldogs are 7.5-point favorites at home, with the total set at 153 after opening at 149.5. No need to worry about a side in this matchup—we want points. The total went under by eight points in their last meeting, where Furman dictated the pace with its tempo in the 200s. This time around, Samford’s top-55 tempo will turn this game into a sprint.
Offensive Bounce Back
Samford is coming off a win over Wofford, where they put up 76 points. Before that, the Bulldogs scored just 59 and 68 in back-to-back losses. Now back at home in their comfort zone, they should settle in and rack up points like they have all season, averaging 82.5 per game at home.
The Bulldogs thrive from beyond the arc, shooting 38.6% from three while ranking 21st in three-point rate. They also excel at generating second-chance points, ranking 19th in offensive rebounding. Defensively, they are one of the best in the country at forcing turnovers, ranking 16th in turnover defense. Their weaknesses? Interior defense and defensive rebounding.
On the other side, Furman is coming off an atrocious showing against UNC Greensboro, where it managed just 50 points. This is a team that averages 71.8 points per game away from home. Greensboro is one of the slowest teams in the country—nothing like the speed-driven Bulldogs—so this matchup should give the Paladins plenty of scoring opportunities.
Furman has been excellent scoring inside on the road, ranking 45th in two-point offense. The Paladins also sit inside the top 150 in three-point offense, offensive rebounding, and adjusted offensive efficiency. Their offense is strong enough to help push this total over. Defensively, they rank 217th in adjusted efficiency and struggle inside, ranking 244th in two-point defense.
With Samford’s blistering tempo and Furman coming off one of its worst offensive performances of the season, both offenses should have plenty of opportunities to exceed their season averages. This game is shifting from a pace controlled by Furman, which ranks 276th in tempo, to a Samford team that sits 55th. Give me the over.
