See Picks & Statistics For The GameAnthony Edwards will lead his Timberwolves into Golden State to take on Jimmy and the Warriors. Minnesota tries to regain their home court advantage in a game that Steve Kerr’s team will be without their leader once again. Can the Warriors protect home court without Stephen Curry? Let’s talk hoops.

The Stifle Tower and The Ant-Man take their show on the road.
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Golden State Warriors
The Minnesota Timberwolves came out highly motivated in Game Two. Despite the fact that Anthony Edwards injured himself the Wolves were able to come away with the win. Their bench was an angry mob when checking into the game. The trio of Donte DiVincenzo, Naz Reid, and Canadian Nickeil Alexander-Walker were terrific. They combined for 40 points and 10 three pointers.
Not that they needed that. The starters were all plus players and contributed in their own ways. Julius Randle had 11 assists, Jaden McDaniels has 3 steals and 3 blocks, and the list goes on. Minnesota was nearly perfect. By halftime, they were up 56-39, and they never looked back.
Conversely, the Warriors were as bad as it gets. They had 20 turnovers and 9-32 (28.1%) from three. Furthermore, they were beaten on the break and in the paint. This team walked onto the court and was outplayed from the jump. Can they respond without their star?
“He cussed us out… the thing I like about Finch is, personally for myself, he can coach me hard.
I might not like it in the moment, but I love that he can challenge me like that.”

This is Jimmy’s team for now. He’s got to play like it.
NBA Game Analysis
Golden State needs to find how it wants to play. Kerr played 14 players in a game where they never even head a lead. Playoffs or regular season, blowout or no blowout, that is a very large rotation. Tough to get players into rhythms with a rotation that large. They need to give Jimmy Butler support. Hard to foster that with sporadic minutes from bench players. They need to find a lineup that works for them and play them considerable minutes.
That could come from a player that was once a highly touted prospect.

— Golden State Warriors (@warriors) May 9, 2025
Kuminga was 8/11 from the field on his way to 18 points. He could be in position to replicate those numbers. The Warriors don’t need to just replace Curry’s points but the effect he has on the pace of the game. Kuminga is a fantastic but underachieving talent. He was formerly the 7th overall pick in 2021. However, his career hasn’t played out like someone drafted that high would hope. If he want an opportunity to prove the franchise he belongs? THIS. IS. IT. His speed and finishing is key for Golden State.
Conversely, Minnesota’s path to victory is to continue to defend while taking care of the basketball. They had 15 steals and blocks as a team, forced the Warriors to 28.1% from three, and they only conceded 12 points off their turnovers.
“Everyone against us. I’ve kind of been like that forever, since high school I never liked playing at home. Not saying I don’t like y’all or nothing, but it just brings that aggression or something”
– Jaden McDaniels on why he likes playing on the road pic.twitter.com/EaKIklhHDW

Key Outlier.Bet Insights
- The Golden State Warriors are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games at home.
- The under hit in 6 of the Minnesota Timberwolves last 7 games on the road.
- Jimmy Butler has failed to exceed 13.5 rebounds & assists in 15 of his last 18 games. If you think the Warriors are cooked then avoid Jimmy’s assists.
- Pat Spencer has failed to exceed 5.5 points & rebounds in 16/18 games at home. Don’t fall for the random hype. I did already.
NBA Best Bet: Jimmy Butler o36.5 PRA (-110)
Jimmy Butler has exceeded 36.5 PRA in 5 straight games at home. At home, Butler averages 42.4 PRA inside of Chase Center. Conclusively, the only way the Warriors can tread water is with Mr. Buckets having big games. I’m betting on it.
