Rockets vs. Warriors | Game 6 Recap

Result: Rockets (115) – Warriors (107)
The best thing in all of sports, Game 7. Winner take all, loser heads into the offseason (Cancun). With so much on the line and this potentially being your last game of the season, there is no room for error. Look for the stars to shine brightest and for each team to leave it all out there on the floor.
The Warriors have now lost back to back games and now sit on the brink of blowing yet another, 3-1 lead. The Rockets held the Warriors to 41% shooting and just 31% from beyond the arc. Both Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler combined 56 of the Warriors 107 points, but the two combined for just 8 points on 1/12 from the field in the 4th quarter.
Houston was once again led by their veteran PG, Fred Vanvleet; scoring 29 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Freddy played 40 minutes in Game 6, leading the Rockets in playtime and he’s been a +33 over their last two games.
What 3-1 lead?
The Warriors are on the brink of blowing another 3-1 lead. The team may not be the same, but the likes of Draymond Green, Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr are all too familiar with being in this position. The infamous 3-1 meltdown in the 2016 NBA Finals will forever be remembered as one of the worst collapses in modern sports.
Golden State won a NBA record 73-games that year and had already completed a 3-1 comeback of their own against Kevin Durant and the Thunder. Up 3-1 in the series, Draymond gets suspended for Game 5 and the Warriors proceed to lose 3-straight games.
Best of 7, first to four or; either way you put it the series isn’t over till it’s over. The Rockets come into tonight not thinking about the previous two games, their back to back wins mean nothing in Game 7. Will these young guns in Houston step up or will we see Golden State’s experience once again triumph?
Our Best Bets in Game 7 between the Rockets and Warriors
Stephen Curry 37.5 PRA (-115 via BetOnline)

Stephen Curry in Game 7 is one of the few things I’ll always bet. Curry’s played in 5 Game 7s in his career, winning 3 of the 5 and averaging 32.6 PPG, 6.4 RPG, and 7.0 APG. He’s shot 47% from the field and just under 43% from beyond the arc. Curry finished with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists in the Game 6, despite not scoring just 3 points in the 4th quarter.
Steph’s averaged 25.9 PPG on the road this year, adding 4.9 RPG and 6.5 APG; all marks significantly higher than his averages at home. Golden State’s averaging just 101.7 PPG on the road in this series and they’ll need to lean on Steph a little more than usual here in Game 7.
Warriors/Rockets o205 (-110 via BetOnline)

The Rockets and Warriors have been involved in an absolute grudge match. Neither team is scoring a lot of points and both defenses are playing tough/physical basketball. Every bucket’s been earned in this series and I expect tonight to be no different.
The two teams combind for 222 points in their last game and have cleared this total in 3 of 6 games so far. Tonight’s Game 7, one of the most competitive spots in all of sports. It’s normal to think these would be defensive battles but 11 of the last 16 (68.8%) first round Game 7s have gone over their posted total.
Both teams have been elite on the defensive side, but over their last two games they’ve done a lot to highlight their offensive fire power. Both teams have scored 107+ points in 3 straight games and tonight with Houston on their home floor, I could see them playing with a little extra swagger.
