Postseason Picture
First game of the night and it’s a battle between to Central Division rivals; the Cavaliers are in Detroit to take on the Cade Cunningham and the Pistons. Detroit’s in a battle with both the Pacers and Bucks, all 3 duking it out for the 4-seed and home court in the first round.
Speaking of Milwaukee, they’ll host the. Knicks tonight at the Fiserv Forum. The Bucks are finally home after a 5-game west coast road trip that saw the team win just 2 of the 5 games they played. Giannis sat out Milwaukee’s last game against the Nuggets, but looks like he could make his return to the lineup tonight against New York.
The Knicks are in control of the 3-seed, sitting 2.5-games ahead of the Indiana Pacers. New York’s managed to win 6 of the 11 games they’ve played without their superstar PG, Jalen Brunson; but they’ve averaged just 112.5 PPG in those 11 games.
Wild Wild West
Both the Clippers and Warriors are fighting to stay out of the play-in tournament, both teams currently tied for that 6th seed. Both teams currently in action tonight, both against bad opponents and both just a half game ahead of the Timberwolves. All 3-teams are vying for the 6th seed and the ability to skip the play-in round all together.
The Timberwolves will face off with the Phoenix Suns. The Suns are currently in a dog fight of their own, a dog fight for the 9/10 seeds and a chance at just getting into the play-in tournament. Lastly, it’s the Hornets making the trip across the border. Lamelo and company are in Toronto looking to upset the home town Raptors.
It’s Friday, crack a beverage and kick up your feet; now lock in and let’s talk hoops.
Today’s theme is; the plus sign (+) and the three.
Jaden McDaniels o1.5 3s (+138) via BetOnline

Jaden McDaniels is shooting almost 40% from beyond the arc, at home this season.
I can’t say this enough, the Phoenix Suns are doing nothing to guard players on the perimeter. The Suns rank 27th in wide open 3-point attempts allowed per game. The team’s allowing 23.2 of these wide open attempts per game and allowing opponents to shoot 38% on these shots.
Phoenix is coming off a blowout loss to the Celtics, a game in which they allowed Boston to shoot 42.3% from 3-point territory and 50.5% from the field. Jaden McDaniels ranks 3rd on this Wolves team in open 3-point attempts per game and he’s shooting just over 50% on these wide open attempts over his L10 games.
McDaniels is shooting 39% from 3 at home this year and he’s only looked better in March. He’s averaging 14.7 PPG this month, to go along with 5.9 RPG and shooting 57% from the field and 45% from beyond the arc.
The Timberwolves rank in the top-5 for 3-pointers attempted, wide open 3-pointers attempted and tonight against the Suns I don’t see why their strategy would change.
Michael Porter o2.5 3s (+104) via BetOnline

Michael Porter Jr. went 6/8 from beyond the arc against Milwaukee on Wednesday.
It’s Michael Porter Jr. against one of the worst perimeter defenses in basketball. Utah ranks 29th in 3s allowed this year, 30th in wide open 3-point attempts allowed and rank 28th in 3s allowed to the SG position.
Porter is coming off a game in which he went 6/8 from 3-point land, this game coming against the beat up Milwauke Bucks. The Bucks are another team that rank in the bottom tier of wide open attempts allowed and points given up.
Porter took 8 3-point attempts against Milwaukee, 6 of them were wide open; hitting 5 of the 6 wide open 3s. Utah’s allowing 25.2 of these wide open attempts per game in their L10 games, allowing opponents to shoot just 38% on these attempts. Utah’s defense is due for some regression, especially at the rate with which they give up open shots.
Look for Michael Porter Jr. and the Nuggets to take full advantage of this bad Utah defense.
