The San Francisco Bay Area is hosting the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend. All-Star Saturday night is tomorrow and it should be entertaining as Adam Silver has debuted an entirely new format that should encourage intensity and defence. Let’s get into it.

The NBA has had some bad, bad All-Star jerseys.
2025 NBA All-Star Game
This year, fans of the association will be treated with a mini tournament. There will be four teams participating in the elimination style bracket.
Three of the teams were announced prior and the fourth earned its spot. Mullin’s squad won this opportunity by winning a similar tournament. On Friday night, the Rising Stars mini tournament ended with Stephon Castle and Team Mullin winning the opportunity to play on All-Star Sunday Night. Candace Parker will take over coaching duties on the big stage.
They will go up against Chuck’s ‘Global Stars, Kenny’s ‘Young Guns,’ and Shaq’s ‘OGs.’ The selected All-Stars were drafted into three teams of eight players each by Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith from NBA on TNT.
The rules are pretty simple. Each team will play to a score of 40. Winners move on.
The NBA All-Star game has extra incentive in the form of cash prizes. The winning team will receive $125,000 each, while the runners-up will receive $50,000 each, and then players from the third and fourth place teams will get an additional $25,000.
NBA All-Star Teams
The rosters for the event breakdown are as follows:
Team Chuck
The Global Stars coached by Charles Barkley:
- Giannis Antetokounmpo
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Replaced by Trae Young)
- Nikola Jokic
- Donovan Mitchell
- Alperen Sengun
- Pascal Siakam
- Karl-Anthony Towns
- Victor Wembanyama
There is an argument to be made that the three best players in the world are on this team. This team also has three bonafide MVP candidates. Chuck won’t have to do much coaching here. Actually, I’m worried he and the players won’t understand each other. Shaq and Chuck barely understand one another. Ears open and careful enunciation, please, Sir Charles.
Team Kenny
The Young Guns coached by Kenny “The Jet” Smith:
- Jalen Brunson
- Cade Cunningham
- Anthony Edwards
- Darius Garland
- Tyler Herro
- Jaren Jackson Jr.
- Evan Mobley
- Jalen Williams
This is a very good collection of stars. They also have Kenny who will likely take this more serious than his TNT co-workers. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Evan Mobley bring defensive pedigrees to a game with no intention of it. Cade, Ant, and Herro definitely see themselves as superstars. They should come ready to play and measure themselves up against both the OG’s and the Global Stars.
Team Shaq
The OG’s coached by Shaquille O’Niel:
- Jaylen Brown
- Stephen Curry
- Anthony Davis (Replaced by Kyrie Irving)
- Kevin Durant
- James Harden
- LeBron James
- Damian Lillard
- Jayson Tatum
If the All-Star game wants to bring back the aura then this team needs to win and needs to dominate. Curry cooking next to the King while the defending champs take turns. Then Durant and Harden are sprinkled in.
Team Candace
Rising Stars winners coached by WNBA Legend Candace Parker:
- Stephon Castle
- Dalton Knecht
- Jaylen Wells
- Keyonte George
- Zach Edey
- Trayce Jackson-Davis
- Ryan Dunn

Realistically, no shot. They could possibly steal the first game if their opponent is complacent. However, most likely, the real All-Stars jump all over this team with simply being superior in the talent department. This team has potential stars but everyone on this roster is raw.
