The same can be said with Co – Main Event fighters in Valentina Schevchenko and Manon Fiorot, who both made championship weight with rather ease. Both women gave a big flex and smile on the scales signaling their easy weight cuts.

As far as the weigh in day drama, we saw a change in weight in the Jose Aldo vs Aiemann Zahabi fight. The bout was changed to a catchweight of 145 lbs rather then the scheduled 135 lb limit.

The main event is set for tonight in Montreal for Welterweight gold after an eventful media week and weigh in. The highly anticipated match up has fans wondering if Belal Muhammad will be able to make his first title defense against Aussie Prospect Jack Della Maddalena.

Belal Muhammad has been an underdog his entire career, yet still has put together an impressive 10 fight win streak. He has entirely revamped his game to round out his skillset since his last loss in 2019.

The wrestling & grappling department has shown major improvements, averaging 2.5 takedowns per fight. He dominated Leon Edwards on the ground to capture the title, racking up 9 takedowns with over 13 minutes of control time.

His boxing has also gotten significantly better since his last loss in 2019, which was by KO no less. Muhammad has out struck his last 3 opponents by over 30 strikes, even securing a KO victory over top prospect Sean Brady.

The Aussie is coming off a full 14 month lay off , after suffering a broken arm in the first round of his last win over Gilbert Burns. Some how after breaking his arm and losing the first 2 rounds, he was able to rally back and land a devastating knee in the 3rd to finish the fight.

His takedown defense is seemingly the only question in his skillset. Even in wins, Jack has given up 10 takedowns against the last 2 wrestling heavy fighters he has seen in the octagon.

Jack Della Maddalena shines in pocket boxing exchanges, with great striking defense. His counter striking is some of the best in the world, with slick footwork and a heavy left hook.

I believe there is a high chance of a finish in this match up due to the wrestling upside of Muhammad, wearing down Maddalena over 5 rounds. As well as the massive boxing upside of Maddalena if the fight does stay standing.

One thing is for sure, this fight will be fireworks from start to finish as Jack Della Maddalena does not know how to fight boring no matter how hard Belal will try to make it boring.

UFC legend Valentina Schevchenko looks to defend her belt for the 1st time against French prospect Manon Fiorot. Fans are excited to see Schevchenko step into the Octagon vs someone other then Alexa Grasso for the 1st time in 3 years.

Valentina Schevchenko will go down as one of the Womens MMA greats, with over 13 wins in the promotion and 8 title defenses. She has made a name for herself with a very technical style, great striking and better fight IQ to secure wins.

She had a long title reign her with her first belt until a mistake turned into an opportunistic submission loss to Grasso. It was the first time in over 6 years that Valentina did in fact look, human.

Dominating almost every fight before that, she has used solid striking, heavy leg kicks, and great footwork to dominate fights. She has added 6 finishes along the way, showing off her power & BJJ skills with 4 Knockouts & 2 submission wins.

When Valentina is able to secure a takedown in the fight she has proven she has solid control & scrambling ability. Over her career her wrestling has made great improvements but she has struggled with bigger women along the way.

Putting on a clinic in her last fight she was able to secure over 9 takedowns and 16 minutes of control time. In a dominating victory she proved her wrestling ability is still at the highest level.

Her striking has seemingly taken a backseat though. Throwing less volume and being hit a lot more in her last 5 fights then she has her whole career fans are to wonder if she has lost a step in her age.

Will The Veteran Be Able To Takedown The French Prospect?

Manon Fiorot is a massive body for the Flyweight division usually carrying a significant size advantage into her fights. Her long frame allows her more freedom in the striking and better distance control for her takedown defense.

She is mainly a striker with a slick technical Muay Thai Style. With very heavy hands, great foot work and a solid side kick that gives all of her opponents trouble.

Her side kicks have been a great range – feeler for her, serving as a jab for her. Fiorot is able to use her footwork and striking to stay off the cage & not allow her opponents to get close enough to grapple.

With a an impressive 93% takedown defense, she has proven she has elite grappling for this level. It is yet to be seen if she can consistently keep up a heavy grappling pace over the course of 5 rounds though.

Being such a big body for the division, she has to cut a lot of weight to make championship weight of 125. I believe the heavy weight cuts are a big contributing factor to her cardio in the later rounds.

If Fiorot is tired from a heavy grappling pace, I’m not sure if the takedown defense will hold up. It is hard to fade a GOAT against a fighter who is also aging at 35, who will slow down in later rounds.

UFC 315 Jasmine Jasudavicius vs Jessica Andrade Analysis, Prediction, Best Bet

In a violent match up for MMA fans, we will see Jasmine Jasudavicius take on Jessica Andrade. This fight is sure to be fireworks as both women are kill or be killed with multiple finishes on their records.

Being hit a lot and not having the best footwork it is always in Jasmine’s best interest to get her fights to the ground. I believe she will have no problem doing that against the Brazilian Striker in Andrade.

Which Women Will Bring More Violence To UFC 315?

Jessica Andrade is a UFC veteran with a lot of fight mileage on her. She has over 28 fights in the promotion with 17 wins in her tenure.

Establishing herself as a finisher, she has finished 9 of her 17 wins inside the distance. Preferring her hands more with massive power punches racking up 6 knockout victories.

Andrade has been known as the gate keeper of this division for a few years now. The UFC routinely matches her up with a hyped up prospect to see if they will pass the test.

After fighting for a belt 3x in her career yet never coming away with a victory, it is clear Andrade is just fighting for money at this point. Her title dreams have faded and she has resorted to exciting bar room brawls to stay relevant.

If Andrade can not stop the take downs from her opponent, she is a complete liability on the ground. With a terrible history of being submitted once the fight has reached the ground & over 9 finish losses.

Jessica Andrades only chance at winning fights now a days is to brawl it out. If she does not find a big punch or an opportunistic submission, she will get taken down and finished.
