It’s officially that time of year, time for me to get into my MLB Bag and find some winners. We’ve got a HUGE slate of games today, so let’s jump right into it.
For additional information on picks, props, money lines and more on today’s slate, take a look at our MLB Picks Page or our MLB Odds Page.
Pitcher Report| June 1st

Yak City
We’ve got a jam packed slate on a nice, lazy Sunday. Right off the bat, Jameson Taillon jumps off the page. He’s recorded a 3.86 ERA this season and is giving up just over 2 HR/9. Taillon’s struggled against the Reds lineup in his career, allowing homeruns to Friedl (2), Stephenson, Steer and Benson.
Another pitcher that’s struggled with the long ball, JP Sears. Sears has a 5.18 ERA this year, allowing opposing batters to hit .267 and giving up 2 HR/9. He doesn’t have the most experience against Toronto but Dalton Varsho’s hitting .600 off him with a homerun.
Lastly, we’ve got Charlie Morton back on the mound for the Baltimore Orioles. Morton’s recorded 7.09 ERA with the O’s this year, giving up 1.9 HR/9 and allowing opposing hitters to hit .276. He’s won just 1 of his 13 starts on the year and today he faces a struggling White Sox team.
Weather Man, Weather Man
Today’s weather report isn’t as great as yesterdays. Conditions at Dodger Stadium once again look pristine, with wind blowing out toward right field. It’s the final game of this World Series rematch, the Dodgers have won both games so far and outscored the Yankees 26-7 across the two games.
Tonight we’ll have Yamamoto take mound for the Dodgers and Yarbough for the Yankees. Both pitchers have been good this year but Yamamoto’s been really good this year. He’s got a 1.97 ERA and he’s given up just 5 homeruns on the season.
Elsewhere on the West Coast, it’s the Padres and Pirates playing the finale of their 3-game series. The Pirates won in shutout fashion yesterday, holding the Padres to just 2 hits through the entire game. Tonight the Padres will face Andrew Heaney, a left handed pitcher who struggled in his last start against the Padres.
Finally, the Diamondbacks and the Nationals, live from the desert. The Nationals put up 11-runs on the Diamondbacks yesterday and by the time Arizona woke up, it was too late. Look for them to respond today against the left handed Mitchell Parker.
Our Best Bets on the Diamond for Sunday, June 1st.
Shohei Ohtani o1.5 Total Bases (-125 via BetOnline)
Yeah, we’re betting on the best baseball player alive; big surprise. Ohtani’s been on a different planet this year, he’s hitting .298 this year and that jumps up to .305 when he’s at Dodger Stadium. Ohtani’s hit 22 HR already this year and he doesn’t look like he’s slowing down.
Ohtani leads the team in hits, runs and homeruns; he’s recorded 37 RBI so far this season and looks like he’s ready for another MVP-esque season.
For the Yankee’s it’s Ryan Yarbrough taking the mound. Ohtani’s recorded 10 at-bats against Yarbrough in his career, hitting .400 against the lefty with 2 doubles and 1 HR. Ohtani’s hitting .325 against lefties this year with a .600 SLG.
So far through two games against New York, Ohtani’s hitting .444 with 2 HR (both last night) and tonight he gets the chance to complete the series sweep.
Bonus: Shohei Ohtani Home Run (+255)
Manny Machado o1.5 Total Bases (+100 via BetOnline)

Manny Machado’s just been great this season. He’s hitting .308 on the season with a .476 SLG. He’s put preassure on opposing defenses all year, despite the recent struggles of the team as a whole. Tonight they face off with the Pirates in the final game of this 3-game series, coming off a game in which the team was held to just two hits.
Machado’s got a career battign average of .286 against Andrew Heaney and he’s been crushing left handed pitchers all year. Manny’s hitting .327 against lefties this year with 4 of his 6 HR coming against southpaws.
The conditions in San Diego look good with wind blowing out toward right field and it feels like a good day for Manny to get his 7th HR of the season.
Bonus Bet: Manny Machado Home Run (+350)
