Sunday Night Baseball is back in New York City as the Mets host the Los Angeles Dodgers in their series finale. This will be the third game between these teams this season, having split the first two this weekend. New York will have to go to Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers in a four game series early next month.

But tonight, they battle to win this first meeting.

The Dodgers came into New York City Friday Night and took down their hosts in a high scoring affair. After 13 innings, the Dodgers came out on top, 7-5. New York had scored three runs in the bottom of the 9th to force extras, but couldn’t seal the deal. However, they bounced back yesterday and tied things up, beating their visitors 5-2. The Mets were down 2-0 after the top of the 2nd, but score five unanswered to get the win.

Now they go head to head one more time to settle this series. Who will come out on top?

The Dodgers did not contribute much to the total last night, and Friday’s game almost went under as well, had it not been for a late Mets rally and extra innings. However, you know how I stand on Sunday Night Baseball totals. If the MLB is going to bring out the juiced balls for any game this year, it’s going to be on a nationally televised game.

Enter Sunday Night Baseball between two teams battling for the top spot in their division. Look, this bet was 1-6 going into last weekend, but thanks to a Yankees rally and specifically a Cody Bellinger (Read: Stoney Cody) 8th inning grand slam, we got over the number (barely). Tonight I see some offense happening again, so I’ll go right back to the over.

Bring out the juiced balls and let these offenses go nuclear tonight. Landon Knack has been getting shelled this year. He’s allowed 2+ runs in 4/6 starts this year, and 4+ runs in half of those, including nine in his last 9.2 innings. Kodai Senga has been a lot better, but he is coming off a tough outing against the Red Sox bats where he allowed three runs on five hits and three walks as well.

We also have some fantastic matchups for several hitters.

According to batters-box.com (Do NOT Forget the Hyphen), the Mets have four elite rated hitters, three others with a great matchup, and three others with an above average matchup. Obviously 10 guys won’t take the field, but New York has plenty of options to choose from. As for the Dodgers, they have just as many choices. Los Angeles has one elite rated hitter (Ohtani), while five others have an above average matchup.

This is a perfect recipe for these hitters to sit back and unleash against these pitchers, and of course we are hoping to get some help from Manfred with the juiced balls on Sunday Night.
