Holy line movement. Athletics rookie Jacob Wilson continues to mash. Batting .567 in June with a 1.329 OPS, he is on another planet right now. No wonder the odds keep shifting in his favor. He is hitting .372 on the year with 93 hits, 15 doubles, and a .936 OPS. Right now, it is his to lose.
Jac Caglianone has been solid in his first week. Six hits, two doubles, and an RBI so far. On Sunday, he went 4-for-4 with a double. He looks comfortable and will only get better with time.
Is There Betting Value in Taking Jac Caglianone?
No, that ship has sailed. He was 8/1 last Monday and 60/1 back in March. If he slumps, the Royals could easily send him back down. They are pushing for a playoff spot and will not risk being held back by a rookie.
I do not see any other player worth considering right now. This race looks like it will come down to these two young stars for the rest of the season.
