AL Cy Young Award Leans
Do not even think about paying -150 on a future, even if it is being thrown into a parlay. It is June. Sure, Tarik Skubal looks untouchable right now, but the juice is not worth the squeeze this early in the season.
Is There Value on the Board?
There is always value. My strongest lean for this award among long shots—and the arm with the most upside—is Red Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet at +750. He has been a huge part of Boston’s success this season, posting a 1.98 ERA (sixth) and 1.06 WHIP (21st). He is averaging 7.76 strikeouts and just two walks per outing.
It is tough to say Tarik Skubal is due for a rough stretch, but if he has even a down month, Crochet could rise in the odds. Right now, the AL and NL MVP and Cy Young races almost feel wrapped up, even this early in June. But it is still June, and there is plenty of baseball left—anything can happen.
