A Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) report saw Pennsylvania online casinos produce $294.2 million in revenue for March 2025. Pennsylvania surpassed its previous record of $281.2 million, set in December, with ease.
The first two months of 2025 saw a dip in revenue, possibly signaling a slowdown in growth. However, March’s total dispelled those concerns, showing a 12.5% rise from the previous month. Moreover, the March numbers saw a 26.2% increase compared to the same time last year.
As part of the “Big Three” USA online casino markets, Pennsylvania was slated to generate high numbers. This is due to the Keystone State having a bigger population compared to New Jersey and Michigan.
Online Casino Slots Reach Milestone
Apart from hitting a US record-breaking revenue, online slot games in Pennsylvania passed a milestone in March. Online casino real money slot games reached $7 billion in all-time revenue after producing $235.5 million last month.
Moreover, online slots have made up 76% of all-time revenue to date. Thanks to March’s impressive numbers, that share rose to 80%—the second time it has reached that level this year. The first time Pennsylvania online slots reached such numbers was back in January.
Online Casinos Expected to Pass $1 Billion YTD in April
Although growth slowed in January and February, online casinos still posted impressive revenue figures, bringing in $823.7 million in Q1 2025. For comparison, the industry made just $637.7 million during the same period last year. Pennsylvania online casinos didn’t surpass the $1 billion mark until May 2024.
Fast forward to 2025, and the Keystone State online casinos are set to cross $1 billion. Currently, online casinos are $176.3 million short, but the sector is on track to pass $1 billion in April.
Hollywood Penn National Leads March Revenue
Since the PGCB doesn’t provide revenue figures by individual operators, it’s hard to determine each platform’s specific contribution. However, the Hollywood Penn National license reached a record $109.5 million in revenue for March.
That’s not surprising, considering the license includes two of the market’s top three performers: DraftKings and BetMGM. Both platforms are widely recognized for their strong performance, as far as online gaming is concerned.
